The Princess Game is a short story at just 50 pages long but wow does it pack a punch!
Written in an interview style which is reminiscent of Big Little Lies, this anti-fairy tale investigates the murders of several high school girls: murders where the girls have been staged to look like princesses!
The suspects are all high school boys who have very familiar names but are far from the Disney Princes we know and love (Kristoff sends porn to the WhatsApp group… Case and point).
This is not a kids book and certainly does not have a happy ending. However, the writing is great: drip feeding us details and leaving us with the most grisly cliffhanger I’ve read in quite some time!
