I have to admit this wouldn’t be something I would usually read as I personally detest the cheating trope and the whole premise of the book screamed this. However, because it is the brilliant Beth O’Leary, I decided to give it a go in the hope that I was proved wrong.
Of course I was, I usually am!
The No-Show is a brilliant mix of light-hearted tone such as The Flatshare and heavier events a la ‘The Road Trip’. There are many trigger warnings such as gaslighting, dementia, death and sexual harassment so expect this to break your heart ten times over but it is, nevertheless, brilliant.
And the twist! Oh the twist!
I can’t say much more without spoiling the story for you but, safe to say, i was very smug thinking i had figured Beth O’Leary out but little did I know i had only discovered the tip of the plot twisty iceberg
